The BTCC first raced at the Birmingham Superprix street track in 1989 and it did provide us fantastic racing especially with Murray Walker commentating!
The three-way scrap involves Andy Rouse, Tim Harvey and Lawrence Bristow. They used every inch of the track in order to overtake for the lead!
At the first ever Birmingham Superprix, Hurricane Charley hit the city of Birmingham just before the F3000 race. A lot of cars struggled to stay off the armco. At the half way point of the race, Andrew Gilbert Scott spun off and crashed into Alain Ferte's stationary car and it resulted the race to be red flagged.

At the last ever Birmingham Superprix for the BTCC circus. The red flag was pulled out after 100 yards into the race as Graham Goode collided into Lawrence Bristow as he got boxed in with Sean Walker.
There was plenty of glorious sunshine coming in Birmingham but it wasn't glorious anymore after the first lap as the F3000 race had to be red-flagged because there was a pile-up at the Labatts Corner involving Damon Hill, Paul Belmondo and Fabrizio Giovanardi.
Once the 1990 BTCC race at the Birmingham Superprix has been restarted after Lawrence Bristow and Graham Goode's startline accident.
Tim Harvey immediately encounters problems with his diff as it began to leak oil right before the start of the race.
As you can see in the video, he kept tapping into a dial in his cockpit in frustration.
Chris Hodgetts was leading the TVR race by a margain ahead of John Kent and Jimmy McRae.
There was a fabulous scrap for 2nd place between Kent and McRae into the last three laps of the race.
There was a sizable accident by Ian Mitchell and the battling duo continued onto their scrap.

This is an extremely rare video clip. It was broadcasted at the first ever Birmingham Superprix in 1986. The lap was driven by Gary Evans in his F3000 car.
You can see that the street circuit is pretty fast and bumpy as well!
