I found an ignition module for a Bryant/Carrier furnace automatic pilot and decided to use it for my Thermojet . The ignition box requires 24vac but my train transformer provides 18 volts ac. It still worked and ignited the propane very effectively. No more lighters or matches needed.
The old TMD fan has been replaced with a Vantec Tornado.

3 ounces of potassium chlorate/aluminum flash powder wrapped in aluminum foil(with fuse protruding) and put under a metal soup(or tin) can. The trail of smoke upwards is the can skyrocketing into the air. The video doesn't depict the true magnitude of the sound of the blast. I had the camera duct-taped to the ground so the shock wave wouldn't knock it over.
