Ipod Fm Transmitter

iPod FM Transmitter

So you finally have your iPod and you can listen to your entire music library anywhere you go. This means that you can listen to it in the car, on the move while jogging, when you’re working, when you’re working out, basically everywhere. And one of the better accessories that you can get to enhance your listening capabilities is an iPod FM transmitter.

With an iPod FM transmitter you have the ability to take your iPod anywhere you go and dump the speakers! And if you get the right type of iPod FM transmitter you can even dump all the wires as well. All you will ultimately need will be your iPod, and your iPod FM transmitter.

How does it work then? Well, to begin with, you’re not trying to catch radio stations to listen to with your iPod FM transmitter. What you are doing instead is catching an unused or very low powered FM transmission (an FM station).

Your iPod FM transmitter will then take this station and play back your iPod songs through this unused FM station. This is the theory. The reality is that sometimes it doesn’t always work like this, despite the assurances that are given by the manufacturers.

Most major cities have more than their fair share of FM transmissions and you will find that even though your iPod FM transmitter is picking up a clear signal FM station, it might be inundated by competing signals. This is especially true where you’re using your iPod FM transmitter in a car.

There are of course ways to circumvent this, and one of the more popular methods used is to remove the antenna on your car. However, this can also present problems, such as what happens when you want to listen to your radio instead of your antenna?

Obviously your having your entire music library with you is supposed to suppress the desire to listen to anything else, but who can really say when you want to have company in the form of an anonymous DJ’s voice?

The other little snag you might hit with this though, is the fact that newer cars are coming with integrated antennas which makes it harder for you to get to the point of removing them!

The next question you would probably want to ask is, why you want to use an iPod FM transmitter when you have your earphones or your speakers with you?

This of course, is a matter of preference but the way that it goes is, if you have your iPod, your iPod FM transmitter and an FM radio you can then listen to your iPod songs without the benefit of the speakers.

This means that with an iPod FM transmitter, you can listen to your songs when you’re traveling in the car etc., or you’re when you’re away on holiday and don’t want to take your bulky iPod speakers with you.
